MOVING AHEAD (Days 31, 32, 33, 34 down...)

(Here we are sharing/counting UP Forty Days and Forty Nights of our lives, our last on the inner-west side of town and, eventually, some of our first on the other (far) side of town, where we envisage some big changes coming our way. Thanks for joining us as we remember, celebrate and experience gratitude for our time here, and sometimes feel completely overwhelmed and exhausted by the changes underway!)

Okay, so this 40 day thing got the better of me and I'm lagging a little behind and, I don't really have much to report except that things are moving ahead nicely in terms of the new house and we continue to lap-up every possible opportunity to relish in living where we are, recognising that this phase of our lives is almost over. Unfortunately, the opportunities to savour the place, the moment, the time in general are speedily diminishing as we become more and more entrenched in activities about the new house and garden.
Day 31 had to us enjoying a day with Dada at the new house, as did Day 33. It's such a rare treat to have him home during the day (on a weekday) and we didn't mind sharing him with the various tasks we needed to begin. It'd been fun, exciting and sometimes overwhelming getting to know the place, including the chickens! Occassionally I spot one or both of the kids meandering about the yard appearing completely at home, as if they've lived there all along. And it's been so wonderful (and a little surreal) to have my sister simply 'pop in' for a pot of tea or to drop things off/collect something. For years we've talked about all the benefits that would come with living close to one another and we're already started to see them, despite not having actually moved yet. Very exciting.

In between days of non-stop activity cleaning and coordinating all facets of work on the new place, we've continued to pack and clean-up at the 'old' house/townhouse (that would be Day 32!). And whenever possible, we've just relaxed together. I wish there'd been more of the latter but soon Ange, sooooon. The kids did manage to try out the new bath, so at least someone's relaxing!

Meet 'Lisa' and 'Sally', no doubt inspired by two of Elsa's long-standing favourites, Corduroy and Sally's Secret.

Proving that sometimes cleaning can be fun!

After complaining of how tired I was of  pre-packed vegemite sandwiches (among other things!), Dino arrived at the new house with a much nicer option; I'll remember to complain again! Who doesn't love a fresh prawn sandwich?
Perhaps the kid's favourite hiding spot; this branch provides the perfect canopy and the chickens love it too.

And today, on this Friday, the 34th day of our little 'festival of 40' while the temperature sits at around 34 degrees (celsius) (the first day over 30 this Spring), we can more readily imagine the Summer ahead. On this hot afternoon, we intend to enjoy a few drinks (tea for me!), and perhaps some pizza, with friends here at home (the 'old' one) as a way to touch base before we make the final MOVE! Did someone say 'tea'? Off I go to enjoy one before the guests arrive! Hope your tea is steeping too.
